Just In: Kaduna Finally Announces Resumption Date for all Schools

  • Secondary and elementary schools across Kaduna state are resuming two months after incessant bandit attacks

Kaduna – The government of Kaduna state has finally announced that all secondary and elementary schools across the northern state will September 12th, should be resumed.

Recall that the state government ordered all schools to be closed back in July after security threats and the kidnapping of students threatened their classrooms.

The En The development was announced in a statement by Shehu Muhammad, Kaduna Commissioner for Education, on Thursday September 9th.

Muhammad said while attending a virtual workshop, that the schools for the first semester of the academic calendar 2021/2022 will be gradually resumed.

According to him, the state government had taken precautions to ensure the completion of the third semester via online Platforms instead of reopening schools.

El-Rufai shares details of why he “secretly” withdrew his son from public school

In a similar development, Governor El-Rufai tacitly withdrew his son Abubakar Al-Sadiq from Kaduna Capital School. The governor made headlines in 2019 when he met his son at a public School signed up. Many observers had described the move as a “political and media stunt”.

Two years later, El-Rufai changed his mind and his son is now being homeschooled. He said that even though his son is currently home for classes, he is still enrolled in school and only goes to take exams.

Lagos State government gives dates for schools to resume known

Meanwhile, the government of Lagos State under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu announced that all private and public schools will resume on Monday September 13th.

This announcement was made by the State Education Commissioner, Folasade Adefisayo, on Monday 6th September.

Adefisayo however noted that model colleges and upgraded schools are to be gradually resumed.

The commissioner also announced that SS2 boarders will complete SS3 classes on Sunday, Continued September 19th.
