FCT, Abuja – Idris Isah Jere, deputy auditor responsible for finance and accounting, is the new acting comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).
Daily Trust reported that Jere has taken over from Muhammad Babandede pending the appointment of a key auditor by President Muhammadu Buhari.
At a par At the meeting on Friday, September 10th, Babandede said he left the NIS better than he met it, reported The Cable .
The retired CG promised that he will always be ready to help whenever he is called to serve.
Babandede was Comptroller General of the NIS for five years.

Politicians prevent irregular immigrants from being arrested – NIS
In other news, Sadat Hassan, the controller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), the command of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, accused the country and others of arresting irregular immigrants on Wednesday 17th Prevent.
Hassan made the statement when members of the House of Representatives Diaspora Committee visited the airport for assessment.
The NIS officer claimed that such people always phoned her orders to prevent NIS men from arresting irregular immigrants.
