Just In: Nigeria Immigration Service Gets New Head as CG Babandede Bows Out after 5 Years in Office

  • The Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Muhammad Babandede, has retired after 36 years of service
  • Pending the appointment of a new CG, Idris Isah Jere, an assistant comptroller general, has taken control of the service

FCT, Abuja – Idris Isah Jere, deputy auditor responsible for finance and accounting, is the new acting comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

Daily Trust reported that Jere has taken over from Muhammad Babandede pending the appointment of a key auditor by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Politicians prevent irregular immigrants from being arrested – NIS

In other news, Sadat Hassan, the controller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), the command of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, accused the country and others of arresting irregular immigrants on Wednesday 17th Prevent.
