Ibadan, Oyo – Ademola Olusegun Popoola, Member of the Oyo State Parliament, was confirmed dead.
Popoola died on the morning of July 12 at the age of 46, as reported by Leadership.
Until his death, the young lawmaker represented the Ibadan Southeast Constituency II of the State Assembly on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform.
The newspaper learned that he in the universe ity College Hospital (UCH ) in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, after struggling with a kidney-related illness.
Governor Seyi Makinde mourned the lawmaker’s death, describing it as someone who had a passion for the state and its development.
Governor Makinde added that the late Popoola was an accomplished legislator who gave his all in service during his lifetime .
“The news of the death of my brother, Hon. Ademola Popoola, a member of Ibadan South-East II, is shocking and painful .
“Hon. Popoola’s death is a great loss to the state, the House of Assembly and the PDP on the basis of which he was elected to the House of Representatives.
“He was an accomplished legislator and a person very passionate about politics began development of the state. He did his best to ensure harmonious relations between the executive and legislatures of the state.
“As a testament to his reputation as a legislator who truly served his people, and as a loyal party man, he was rewarded with a ticket for re-election to the State House of Assembly in the 2023 election.
“On behalf of the government and the good people of Oyo State, I feel sorry for the Oyo State House of Assembly, the PDP family and the entire Popoola family on this sad loss.
“I pray that God will give rest to his soul and give everyone the strength to bear the loss.”
