D-Day, Thursday July 7th, is when Ike Ekweremadu, a former Deputy Senate President, and his wife Beatrice are brought to trial at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London . the United Kingdom (UK) for the organ harvesting involving the alleged donor David Ukpo.
Recall that on Thursday June, Ike Ekweremadu and Beatrice were arrested by London’s Metropolitan Police in August and charged with conspiracy to organize David’s trip to illegally remove his kidney.
The arrest came after in May an investigation had been launched into possible offenses under the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Although the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) determined after the arrest that the victim was is a 21-year-old adult, the UK Metropolitan Police insisted he is a 15-year-old child and as such is a minor.
