The wife and mother of a notorious bandit popularly known as Bokkolo in Sokoto state was reportedly captured when Nigerian Air Force fighter jets bombed his residence in the state .
Daily Trust reports that the Air Force, which launched its attack in a joint operation with the Nigerian Army, Air Force, Police, DSS and others, was successful many lieutenants of the bandits in Sokoto. state.
A resident confirmed that Bakkolo’s wife, mother, and many of his gang members were trapped in the house and likely killed during the operation.
The resident said:
“But we are not sure if he is among the dead, but his wife and mother were at home during the raid.”
The Nigerian Air Force operation against the bandits began on Friday November 19th when some of the armed men fled to Tsabre, Sarkin Darai and Tiɗibale areas of the state.
Other residents of the area said the bandits ran from their hiding spots with gunshot wounds during the raid.
President Buhari condemns attacks by bandits
The Guardian also reported five days ago that President Muhammadu Buhari had attacked some bandits in Sok state oto.
The president also condemned the murder of 15 people in the local government districts of Goronyo and Illela in the state.
