Nigerian Military Reveals Large Number of Terrorists Who Surrendered in 2 Weeks – Legit.ng

Hoping to save Nigeria from insurgent attacks liberating forces operating in different regions of the country, the Nigerian military announced that over 4,000 members of the Boko Haram terrorist group have surrendered to the troops.

At a press conference on Thursday , June 30, Defense Media Operations Director Maj. Gen. Benard Onyeuko said a total of 4,770 Boko Haram terrorists surrendered to Nigerian military forces between June 1 and 15, 2022.

Onyeuko added that among those who surrendered to the troops are 2. 490 children; 1,415 women and 814 men.

He said that all terrorists who surrendered to the military high command were profiled by Defense Headquarters.

His words:

“Members of the Boko Haram terrorists have continued to surrender to our forces at various locations in the theater of war.”

“Between the 1 they, consisting of 864 adult males, 1,415 females and 2,490 children surrendered.

“All of the surrendered Boko Haram terrorists/members and families of the West African province of Islamic State were profiled and documented, while all items arrested and seized were handed over to the relevant authority for further action.”

Terrorists neutralized by Nigerian military forces

The spokesman for the Defense Headquarters further stated that in the state of Zamf ara the military neutralized 82 terrorists through its operation.

According to t o Onyeuko, several other members of the terrorist group suffered injuries of varying degrees.

He confirmed that troops were hinted about an impending attack by 150 terrorists on the village of Kofar Danya.

He said , Nigerian Air Force personnel imposed an air ban in their enclave, resulting in their deaths.

Onyeuko also said that over three million liters of AGO and 3.8 million liters of crude oil were seized by oil thieves.

The Nigerian military has assured its ability to safeguard the lives and property of citizens in all states of the country.

This assurance from the military followed the Zamfara state governor’s request for the police chief to issue gun licenses for self-defense against attack by bandits and terrorists on residents.

However, the defense state chief said in his response to the governor’s request that the military and other security agencies do whatever they can to address insecurity in and around Zamfara.

The Zamfara state government is urging residents to arm themselves against bandits

Residents of Zamfara state have been urged to apply for gun licenses to fight back against bandits in the state.

The order was issued by information officer Chief Executive of State, Ibrahim Dosara, on behalf of the government.

Zamfara has been the epicenter of banditry by terrorist groups besieging the state for several months.
