Lagos State Police Command said it would not spare anyone operating commercial motorcycles (Okada) in areas where their operations have been restricted.
This latest development was spotted on Saturday, May 21 by State Police Spokesman SP Benjamin Hundeyin via a tweet announced his official Twitter handle.
According to his twee t he noted that the ban applies to Okada drivers in the restricted areas for passengers.
He said:
“As part of the new total Motorcycle bans in six Lagos state local government areas will result in arrests and prosecutions for passengers and drivers alike. The passenger is an accomplice. Ignorance is no excuse!”
Lagos Imposes Total Ban on Commercial Motorcycles
Recall that the Lagos State Government has imposed a total ban on Okada drivers announced six Local Government Areas (LGA) and nine Local Council Development Areas (LCDA) following the gruesome murder of an audio engineer named David.

Security group welcomes Sanwo Olu’s ban on Okada

In another related report, the Southwest Security Stakeholders Group (SSSG) commended Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the recent ban on commercial motorcyclists.
While the group welcomed the move, the group’s statement also called on Governor Sanwo-Olu to extend the ban to other areas of the state.
