Osinbajo, Olanipekun, Judges, Others Harp on Justice Reforms

Lagos – It was a gathering of lawyers and distinguished attorneys from across the country and the focus was on judicial reforms, as they all discussed with the Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and Chief Wole Olanipekun, who celebrated his 70th birthday in Lagos on Friday, November 19th.

The forum was the second justice summit organized by Wole Olanipekun & Co, one of Nigeria’s leading law firms.

On the importance of the integrity of the judicial process and its key players, judges and lawyers, said VP Osinbajo :

Praise the VP’s work as Attorney General of Lagos, a retired judge of the Supreme Court, Hon. Judge Paul Galumje said:

He demanded Osinbajo decided to support the achievement of the autonomy of the judiciary, stating that reforms of the judiciary and all other problems would be addressed once the judiciary was given its independence.

He also recommended adopting technology and other models of judicial practice from other parts of the world to address the challenges faced by judges and the system in Nigeria is the right direction.

In In the same way, former NBA President Abubakar Mahmoud praised Osinbajo’s support for the judiciary and said:

“You were a strong pillar of the judiciary in this country. We know that when the opportunity arises, you will do more for the much-needed reforms of the judiciary. ”

With regard to the reforms that the Vice-President initiated as prosecutor of Lagos – Der General who reshaped the state judiciary, Ms. Funke Adekoya, said more efforts were needed from stakeholders to maintain the gains made at the time.

She said that the introduction of technology and other innovations would help with the rapid distribution of cases and many other legal proceedings.

Osinbajo at the judges conference, calls to deter dilatory tactics

In the meantime, Vice President Osinbajo will officially declare the 2021 Biennial of All Nigerian Judges’ Conference on Monday, November 15th.
