One of the regular training and retraining programs for Peace Mass Transit drivers began Tuesday and is continuing as we speak. The month-long program is designed to cover all PMT fleet drivers.
Federal Officials The Transportation Safety Commission oversees the main sessions for participants , while PMT Safety Manager Sunday Igwegbe guides them through the other routines.
Peace Mass regularly conducts safety refresher courses for its drivers and takes their participation seriously.
< p class="align-left">During the month-long duration of this May session, all drivers are expected to check in in batches and go through regular and specific routines as a form of recertification.
Part of Mr Igwegbe’s job is to check that drivers have valid driving licences.
FRSC -Officials guide them through safety routines such as fire emergencies, highway codes and general traffic safety safety procedures.
Safety manager Igwegbe expressed satisfaction with the reaction of drivers in the current session and assured that the company would not lower its high safety standards to accommodate unruly drivers.
“We do not tolerate negligence because lives are involved,” he explained. ” We train them regularly because some may be tempted to take security for granted“.
” But we don’t allow that, so despite the logistical implications, we run these trainings regularly “.
