Lafia, Nasarawa – A fake military man, Timothy Emmanuel, posing in military disguise, was arrested by police in Nasarawa state.
Channels TV reports that, according to the police state commissioner Adesina Soyemi, the 28-year-old is supposed to pretend to be an officer in the Nigerian army.
Soyemi said Emmanuel, a native of Plateau state, was released on Friday, Sep 17 tember, along with 60 other suspects arrested for various crimes.
A n An AK-49 rifle, two magazines and a Toyota Corolla were recovered, when the 28-year-old suspect was walking on BAD Street in Lafia parish, The Nation added.
Soyemi stated that the suspect was engaged in illegal activities in Karu prior to his arrest and Lafia was involved.
Army enters bandit camp and rescues Major who was kidnapped at NDA
Previously, the military officer who was rescued some time ago was kidnapped when bandits broke into the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA) in Kaduna on August 24th Division of the Nigerian Army, Colonel Ezindu Idimah.
Major CL Datong was rescued by troops in an operation aimed at destroying several identified bandit camps in Afaka-Birnin Gwari areas of the state.
Leaked memo: Terrorists flee from Sambisa forest after Kaduna, says DSS
In other news, Boko Haram terrorists are fleeing the Sambisa forest to the Rijana forest, according to a leaked memo from The Punch newspaper.
In the memo, signed by Acting Deputy Commander General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Intelligence and Investigation, BO Bassey, civil defense officers were asked to be on the vigilant side of the situation.
According to the document, the terrorists plan to join forces with Adamu Yunusu aka Saddiqu and his supporters.
