Imo Police Command says brave officers killed four bandits who allegedly attacked the Izombe Police Division in the Oguta area of the state on Saturday night.
State Police Commissioner CP Abutu Yaro Dies became announced in a statement signed on Sunday by Command’s spokesman SP Bala Alkana.
Yaro said many of the bandits fled with gunshot wounds.
The news agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the attack came less than 24 hours after the Atta Police Station in the Njaba Council area was destroyed by armed men.

The CP said the most recent incident occurred in Izombe on Saturday between 7:00 pm and 10:00 pm.

“Four hoodlums were neutralized during the attack while others escaped with gunshot wounds.

In another development, police said they had uncovered an illegal depot in Ogbo Oshishi (timber market) Naze in the local government area of Owerri North, where petroleum products are located for onward transport to locations designated for attack.
Yaro said police had transferred anti-riot command and Quick Intervention Team to the police based on information from credible sources the place and arrested six people.
He said the illegal depot, consisting of 14 shops, was filled with petroleum products that are believed to have been mined through bunkering.
The police chief said a tanker with the Registration number GWA 568 AA was intercepted while unloading petroleum products into some barrels of the illegal depot.
He said the suspects also unloaded the product in sacks using a Robin EY15 pumping machine, adding that both the truck and the pump The machine was recovered
