Kaduna – Ambassador Tukur Yusufu Buratai says that President Muhammadu Buhari is prioritizing security, contrary to the idea , which is being circulated by some people to discredit his efforts,< strong> Legit.ng reports.
Buratai, on Saturday, June 11th , speaking at a symposium in Kaduna, told Nigerians that the President is concerned about insecurity in Nigeria and he is doing his be est to address the situation.
“Although it is not my duty or professional regulation as a retired soldier and diplomat, briefs under the circumstances for President, As someone who has worked with him as Chief of Army Staff (COAS) for sixty-six months, I still believe the confrontation with this country and he is doing his best to address the situation. “
While delivering his speech as a guest speaker at the symposium, the ex-army chief stated that there are solutions that can be offered to end insecurity in Nigeria.
Buratai talks about security strategies to end insecurity
He advocated adopting a comprehensive and integrated approach, the revitalization of the Nigerian defense industrial enterprise and its preservation ongoing reforms of the Nigerian police.
Buratai further added that the procurement of modern platforms and systems for intelligence gathering, effective border control , dialogue, combating narratives and mastering ungoverned spaces may prove crucial to overcoming insecurity in Nigeria.
The symposium was chaired by Lt. General Lamidi Adeosun (Rtd ) escorted et, where Buratai gave a lecture entitled “Politics and Insecurity in Nigeria: The Way Forward”.
The event was organized by the Arewa House with eminent figures, traditional rulers , Kaduna State Government and military officers on duty and retired.
