President Muhammadu Buhari celebrated 80th birthday with Nollywood Olu Jacobs.
In a shared on Facebook Statement by Femi Adesina, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Information, Buhari, noted that the occasion calls for thanksgiving for God’s care, guidance and protection.
The statement read:
“The President congratulates the family of Jacob, including the wife, also a well-known actor, Joke Silva, and their friends on the d An auspicious occasion that calls for thanksgiving for God’s care, guidance and protection.”
The President acknowledged that the veteran actor’s influence on the film industry has garnered recognition and awards worldwide had received. He cited the Lifetime Achievement Awards presented to Jacobs by the African Movie Academy Awards in 2016.
Buhari praised Jacobs’ rare skill in interpreting roles. He explained:
“As the actor turns 80, the President finds his ingenious ability to interpret roles, simplify complex issues and bring messages to the understanding of young and old alike, using cultural, Ethnic and religious barriers will be leveled a household name across the country and beyond.”
The Nigerian leader prayed to God that the aged actor better health, longer life and steadfastness in service to the arts, God and humanity.

Joke Silva did threw a big party for her beloved husband’s 80th birthday and many in the entertainment industry showed it for an old Jacobs who influenced his career in one way or another.
A video shared on social med ien was spotted capturing the moment when a frail looking Jacobs arrived at the venue for the celebration, which many were eagerly awaiting.
The actor was escorted into the room by a family member and quickly went to a special seat reserved for him.
