Awommamma – Imo State Government under the leadership of the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehi paid a visit to the Isieke intersection in Awommamma to assess the ugly incident of November 23 on the spot.
Anyaehi was accompanied by the SA the governor for youth affairs, Hon. Eric Uwakwe and some government officials.
Preliminary investigation revealed unprincipled practices by both villagers and military personnel.
Although the incident remains regrettable and reprehensible, the governor has called for calm as the cause of the incident is clarified.
Uzodimm ordered an immediate investigation into the incident and promised that of to repair the damage recorded by the community.
Although the government recognizes the contributions of our security agencies in the fight against insurgency in the region, the government would welcome and expect professional behavior from the military in this regard also from the Communities to work with security agencies to eradicate criminal elements within their residence.
One soldier was killed as troops dispersed IPOB / ESN grumblers enforcing illegal sit-at-home orders
< Recall that a member of the Biafra Outlawed Indigenous People (IPOB) and a brave soldier were killed on Monday November 22nd during a firefight in the Oru East local government of Imo state .
Acting Deputy Director of Public Relations for the Army of the Nigerian Army 82nd Division, Major Abubakar Abdullahi, said the incident occurred while troops were participating in Exercise GOLDEN DAWN carried out, some IPOB members dispersed, built the land in flames.
