Kano, Kano – A report from the Daily Trust reported that an Abubakar Sadiq and his wife Maryam Sadiq stole a newborn child from the Abdullahi Wase Hospital in Kano.
According to the report, the public relations officer of the Kano State Police, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said police received a complaint from the baby’s father, Rabi’u Muhammad, on Wednesday September 8th.
Muhammad, who was at Gayawa -The town lives in the district of Ungogo, said that one of his newborn male twins was missing on the same day.
“He said that his wife was given birth to the twins on September 7th, 2021 in the Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital Kano and was admitted. She woke up and didn’t see the child. “
He said when he received the report, State Police Commissioner Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko was raising a detective team led by SP Daniel Itse Amah to save the victim and arrest the perpetrators.
The police superintendent remarked:
“The team immediately stormed the scene and directed The hospital was cordoned off and thoroughly combed, but the child could not be found immediately.
“Sustained efforts, coupled with the exchange of information, led to the arrest of a Maryam Sadiq, 22 years old, and her husband, an Abubakar Sadiq, 50 years old, all from Rijiyar Zaki Quarters, Kano and the child was recovered at their home. “
The Sun also reports that he said Maryam confessed that the child was being removed from the Muhammad Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital, Kano and that she did the deed under the influence of her husband, who longed for a male child.
Kiyawa said the newborn baby was reunited with its parents , and said that the suspects would be brought to justice.
