Olowu of Kuta, HRM Oba Adekunle Makama, Tegbosun 111, has described an attempt by some faceless groups to tarnish the image of former Army Chief of Staff and Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Benin, Ambassador Tukur Yusufu Buratai, as a futile effort.
Speaking at a press conference z in Kuta on Tuesday June 28 on the recent release against former COAS, Olowu said Buratai has an unimpeachable character worth emulating.
Olowu, flanked by other traditional rulers in Osun State, said he was ready to support any Nigerian who was patriotic and had shown enough commitment to Nigeria unity like Buratai.
However, the ex-army chief denied the allegation through his lawyer, who called it malicious.
To the topic “We Can Vouch For The Integrity of Buratai,” Olowu said , it was the ICPC’s timely refutation that thwarted the shenanigans of those who just want to mock Buratai for politics.
Buratai has no home in Wuse, says Olowu
” It was the timely intervention of the ICPC that the money at the Wed literal entrepreneur was found and not Buratai’s residence, which otherwise saved the day some would have believed the online portal’s hatchet job.
“For example, if you found money from one of the directors of Julius Berger, that for a Contract is destined, deer. Does that mean the money belongs to President Muhammadu Buhari who gave you the job?
“Buratai does not have a house in Wuse 2 where all the items recovered by the ICPC were found became. It’s a mere attempt by politicians to tarnish his image. Not many people were comfortable with his presence in Eagle Square during the recent All Progressives Congress Primary in Abuja.
“He was also named a member of the APC campaign council for the Osun state governor election in July. I think you can see where the attack is coming from.”
Olowu, who said Buratai remodeled the Nigeria Mission in Cotonou, said it was condescending, only him to depose for political reasons.
Group responds to allegations linking Buratai to N1.85hn weapons fund
Meanwhile, the leadership of Fusion 774, a Nigerian advocacy group, is responding to media reports claiming that ex-army chief T.Y Buratai is holding a N1.85 billion munitions fund in his home.
Mr Sadiq Jikta, the group’s national coordinator, called the report an attempt to tarnish the ex-army chief’s reputation.
But he urged the media to review best practice from news sources prior to publication.
ICPC responds to allegations Buratai was linked to weapons funds in V
However, the ICPC has refused to recover N1.85 billion from a house and office allegedly owned by former Army Chief of Staff Tukur Buratai.
< p class="align-left">In a statement released on Friday, June 3, the Commission announced that it had recovered N170 million cash, US$220,965, G-Wagon and other items from a military contractor.< /p>
The commission added that it had arrested the chief executive of the military contractor’s company, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
