The Zamfara government has started bringing IDPs back to their communities after the security situation in the state improved.
Hajia Faika Ahmed, State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, gave known this: while she was briefing journalists in Gusau on Friday.
Ahmed said the government had provided more than 400 internally displaced persons with food and logistics so that they could return to their communities.
According to her statement, internally displaced persons are being handed over to district chiefs in various emirates.
The commissioner added that the internally displaced persons, mostly women and children, would be accompanied by security forces to ensure their safe return.
Said security agency reports have confirmed that law and order have been restored to most of the bandit and kidnapped communities in the state.
