Buthelezi accuses Zulu king’s siblings of attempts to torpedo his ‘wishes and arrangements’

Siblings of the late King Goodwill Zwelithini have been accused of holding meetings which, without the authority of the regent Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, could lead to divisions within the family.

The traditional Prime Minister of the Zulu nation, Mangosuthu Buthelezi, on Wednesday berated Prince Mbonisi and Princess Thembi, accusing them of a parallel process of meetings allegedly “dealing with the issue deal with who can help the regent ”.

“Unfortunately, this parallel process is being conducted without the authority or approval of Her Majesty Queen Shiyiwe Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, whom His Majesty the King has indicated that they are leading the nation at this point in time should, or from the king’s other five widows, ”he said.

Buthelezi also claimed that the meetings are taking place without the knowledge of Queen Mother Mayvis (MaZungu), widow of King Cyprian, the matriarch of the family, nor he, the traditional Prime Minister the Zu lu monarch and nation.

He added that the meetings were not attended by other high-ranking members of the royal family, including the late king’s personal assistant or the king’s remaining paternal uncle.

Buthelezi argued that no meetings were required to discuss an assistant to the regent, saying: “The issue of the support of Her Majesty Queen Mantfombi has already been dealt with in an official meeting of the Zulu royal family, held in the palace where the queen resides and attended by all high-ranking family members, including Prince Mbonisi and Princess Thembi. “

When Buthelezi found out about the meetings, he asked for a record to determine why they were being held. However, he has not yet received a copy.

Buthelezi said the royal family were deeply concerned about developments.

“The royal family is deeply concerned about these unauthorized meetings as it seems they are. It’s mischievous and a start of division within the family. They also undermine Her Majesty the Queen’s authority, who now leads the nation. It seems that such an action is aimed at torpedoing the wishes and arrangements of His Majesty the King, ”he explained.

Buthelezi said the royal family will request a meeting with Prince Mbonisi and Princess. Thembi revealed that the duo were not attending a sanctioned family reunion for medical reasons.

He stressed that “the family felt it was important to clarify their position towards the Zulu nation in order to undo the confusion that had arisen. “
