A 29-year-old woman arrested on alleged possession of drugs worth around R140,000 was due to appear at Kimberley Magistrates’ Court in the North Cape on Wednesday.
She was arrested by the Hawks Serious Organized Crime Investigation Team on Monday.
Their arrest came after police received information regarding the delivery of Dagga from Johannesburg to the Kimberley and the information was operational.
“The members An identified minibus taxi and a Dagga weighing 2.8 kg were found in a holdall,” Hawks spokesman Capt Tebogo Thebe said the suspect is in the country illegally. She was also charged with violating the Immigration Act.”
He said the Dagga was confiscated for further investigation.
