Gauteng police have seized R10 million worth of stolen copper in Lenasia, Johannesburg.
Provincial police spokesman Col Dimakatso Sello said officers arrested four suspects on Thursday , after investigating information about stolen copper in the suburbs.
“Upon arriving at the specified location, members found a truck with two trailers loaded with copper plates. Two other empty trailers were found at the site and further investigation determined the trailer was stolen when a case was opened in Kempton Park. Four suspects have been arrested and are soon due to appear before a magistrates’ court on possession of stolen property.
“Police efforts in Gauteng to combat non-ferrous metal crimes continue to bear positive results,” Sello said.
