With the country facing a cold weekend, electric heaters will not be an option after Eskom confirmed it is enforcing ongoing blackouts.
The utility said on Friday that due to a shortage of generation capacity, Stage 2 load shedding will be performed tonight from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and at the same times on Saturday and Sunday.
“We have 3,405 MW for scheduled maintenance and 15,534MW of capacity unavailable due to outages.
“Eskom calls on all South Africans to help limit the impact of load shedding by reducing power consumption and all not -essential articles.”
