The EFF is calling for the immediate evacuation of all students staying at the Insika Guest House in Mbombela, Mpumalanga.
This is after owner Philemon Lukhele appeared in court Monday in connection with the murder of Hillary Gardee .
Lukhele appeared in Nelspruit Magistrates Court with Albert Mduduzi Gama and Sipho Lawrence Mkhatshwa to face charges of rape, murder, kidnapping, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and conspiracy to commit murder.< /p>
The men abandoned their plans to seek bail.
On Tuesday, the EFF in Mpumalanga called the lodge a “house of horrors where small black children are housed with the utmost hospitality of the Hell”.
On Monday, the University of Mpumalanga terminated its contracts with Lukhele. In a resignation letter seen by TimesLIVE, Dean of Studies Paul Maminza said the university had accredited three student accommodations at Insika Guest House to accommodate students.
She said she had serious concerns about the allegations against Lukhele.p>
“The University takes these developments very seriously and, consistent with its value of integrity and for the safety and well-being of our students, has no choice but to revoke the accreditation of the three lnsika Guest House student accommodations with immediate effect .”
Maminza said that all university students residing at the three facilities have been informed that accreditation has ended and the students will need to move to other accredited accommodations.
The EFF is also calling for the immediate termination of Lukhele’s employment as chief researcher for the ANC faction in the provincial legislature z Mpumalanga.
The party urged women who have experienced violence, abuse, rape or robbery “in the same way as Hillary did” to come forward and report the incidents to the EFF or the police.Hillary, 28, is the murdered daughter of former EFF General Secretary Godrich Gardee. The computer science graduate was found murdered last Tuesday, four days after she disappeared while shopping with her three-year-old adopted daughter.
Her body was found by woodworkers in a field outside Mbombela. She had been assaulted and shot in the back of the head.
The indictment presented in court on Monday claimed her kidnapping was planned as early as January.
