LISTEN | Numsa members accept Eskom’s 7% increase offer

The National Union of Metalworkers of SA (Numsa) said Tuesday it had received a mandate from its members to accept Eskom’s wage proposal.

Numsa said the agreement would apply from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023 for all permanent employees of the bargaining unit who are employed by Eskom.

“The salary increase is 7% consistently.

< p>“Eskom agrees to reinstate the Terms of Service changes in place on June 30, 2021, effective July 1, 2022,” Numsa said.

The housing benefit would increase by R400 for the period 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.

“As Numsa we are delighted to have finally completed this wage round, particularly given the difficult circumstances faced by we faced. The unilaterally withdrawn terms of service that caused so much suffering to our members have been restored. We also achieved an improvement over last year after Eskom imposed 1.5%,” Numsa said.
