Activists argue that the school curriculum is misguided, African languages are being overlooked and language problems are silencing students.
Language expert Dr. Xolisa Guzula and diversity expert Asanda Ngoasheng say the Department of Basic Education should enact a policy to make changes to the curriculum.
“Learners are being silenced because they cannot express themselves,” Guzula said.< /p>
