Alyssa and Jesse Joao never met their aunt Desiree Reid. She went missing in January 2000 before she was born to her sister Janet Joao. However, for these two teenagers, Desiree remained a part of their lives as they watched their mother and grandmother struggle with the unresolved grief of finding a missing loved one.
Since May 25th is missing internationally On Children’s Day, the pair thought it fitting to release their first original song, Void, in memory of their aunt and highlighting the plight of missing people in South Africa.
