Load-shedding eases to lower stages as consumers help Eskom

Due to lower than expected demand, load shedding will be performed at level 4 until 10pm on Friday evening, reduced from level 6.

Load shedding will then be reduced to level 2 until 7am on Saturday .

Level 4 load shedding is then performed on both Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

From 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m Sunday load shedding is back on stage 2.

Eskom advises that this small respite is due to lower than expected demand over the weekend and will continue to assess the situation and monitor the system closely.

The utility has 3,104 MW for scheduled maintenance while another 17,431 MW is unavailable due to outages.
