The Limpopo Police have launched a manhunt after gunmen who brazenly robbed a Louis Trichardt fuel depot and shot an employee three times.
Limpopo Police Spokesman, Lt-Col< /span>Mamphaswa Seabi said according to information available to them, the incident occurred at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and lasted until 4:00 a.m. when six unmarked trucks pulled into the depot filled.
The deportation is on Bronn Street in the city’s industrial area.
Seabi said a manager at the terminal, which sells diesel in bulk, opened the gate for a truck , who drove in under the pretense of buying fuel there.
< p>“The inmates came out armed with pistols and assault rifles. The suspects took the manager’s remote control and two mobile phones,” Seabi said.
He said the manager was also robbed for R6,000 in cash.
“They took him and locked him in a room alone. Everyone else was locked in separate rooms and tied up with zip ties,” Seabi said.
A company driver on the premises was found shot three times and taken to the hospital, according to police.
“The footage showed the trucks coming into the yard. About six trucks arrived and filled with diesel until they spilled over. The suspects are unknown and the investigation is ongoing,” Seabi said.
When police checked a license plate attached to one of the trucks, it turned out to be for a Volvo sedan in Johannesburg was approved.
