A man who allegedly admitted to raping and then killing his 70-year-old mother is expected to appear in the Coligny magistrate court on Monday.
Police in the Northwest said Petrus Moswea (25) was in custody when he first appeared in court on Wednesday.
The defendant was arrested last Monday, the day his mother’s body was found on the Nicolaas farm near Coligny. < / p>
“According to the information received, the defendant reported the incident to the police who accompanied him to the crime scene,” said the police spokesman Capt Aafje Botma.
The deceased who had a Knobkerrie was badly attacked, then raped and killed, lived with her husband and the accused.
However, the husband was not on the farm at the time of the incident.

The North West Police Commissioner, Lt-Gen Sello Kwena, condemned the incident and praised the members for their efforts in arresting the accused.
