One woman was killed and 14 people injured when a minibus taxi crashed through a wall in Durban Thursday night.
Emer-G-Med spokesman Kyle van Reenen said the high-speed crash occurred on Chris Hani Road, Brionene.
He said paramedics were greeted by “absolute chaos” when they arrived at the scene.
“A minibus taxi was off the road off and through a brick wall.
“Injured commuters climbed to safety, and a triage area was set up on site.
” Three people have been diagnosed with life-threatening injuries and advanced life support measures Intervention was required to stabilize them before they were taken to nearby hospitals for further care.
“The remaining patients were treated and stabilized before being moved to various medical reception facilities for further care.”
Van Reen en said a 40-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The facts surrounding the incident and what happened before it are unclear and nd will be the subject of a police investigation.”
