“There’s one more star in the sky, Oyisa. We’ll never forget you.”
This is one of several tributes received for Oyisa Pupuma, a student at Hilton College, on Saturday night died in a car accident along with his uncle.
The KwaZulu-Natal private school said in a Facebook tribute Monday: “Hilton College was devastated by the tragic death of matriculation student Oyisa Pupuma and his uncle at a Devastated by Saturday night’s car accident. The sudden loss of a personality who gave us great energy, kindness, humility and humor is staggering.”
The school described Pupuma as “a spirited champion of the arts”.
He has made many contributions to the school community, including taking on important roles at music festivals.
“He was recently cast in a leading role in our forthcoming production of The Tempest.”
The school submitted the Thoughts and prayers to friends of the young man and his family, “especially his parents Dr. Xanti Pupuma and Dr. Noluthando Pupuma, his McKenzie House brothers and Hilton employees who worked closely with him.
“The pride and joy of your parents. Modest, determined young man. Guess heaven couldn’t wait for you,” said one Facebook user.
