Perlemoen poaching suspects arrested at Sardinia Bay

Two suspected Perlemoen poachers were arrested Wednesday in Sardinia Bay in the Eastern Cape after private security forces found them with two vehicles with diving equipment and cameras.

Police spokesman Colonel Priscilla Naidu said the suspects were , both 20 years old, had been jailed for unlawful and premeditated conspiracy with another person to commit a crime.

Naidu said two vehicles and “a lot” of diving equipment and cameras had been confiscated.

“An investigation is underway into the seizure of diving clothing and equipment,” Naidu said.

The suspects are expected to appear in court soon.

In recent In two weeks, the anti-poaching unit confiscated more than 30 diving equipment and confiscated three vehicles.
