A Gauteng school principal believed to be a “father figure” who was fired for misconduct in two cases of alleged sexual assault involving teachers has lost his reinstatement application.
The principal was fired for misconduct in March 2021.
One of the teachers claimed he touched her buttocks at school and breathed down her throat. She claimed she received a WhatsApp message asking for a “quickie” and was sent a photo of chickens having sex, which was disturbing as she viewed him as a “father figure”.
The other teacher claimed that she was stroked on her thigh and privates while driving to school with the principal.
The incidents are said to have happened in 2018.
Following his dismissal The principal approached the Education Labor Relations Council and asked for reinstatement.
Commissioner Luyanda Dumisa ruled this week that the provincial education department had been procedurally and substantively fair and dismissed the wrongful dismissal claim.
