Kgathatso Tlhakudi, director-general of the Public Enterprises Department, has been suspended as a precautionary measure.
In a statement Friday, the department said a complaint had been filed with the Public Service Commission regarding Tlhakudi . No further details were given.
“The matter has been investigated by an outside investigator and the report has been forwarded to the Presidency for consideration.”
In accordance with government protocol, the President has the matter delegated to the Minister for Justice and Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola, for further action in accordance with the Officers Service Manual.
“The Minister for Justice and Correctional Services has appointed the Director General of the Department of Public Enterprises effective immediately precautionary suspended pending completion of disciplinary proceedings,” the department said, adding that any further communications on the matter would be issued by the judiciary and the correctional facility.
