A video of a fatal shooting in a restaurant in Brazil went viral this week on social media after allegations the incident occurred in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, sparking outrage and prompting police action.
< p> Brazilian publication Globo reported that the incident took place on Sunday in a restaurant in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, in the municipality of Jaboticaba.
Two people died, including a 51-year-old police superintendent who was buried on Tuesday. He is survived by his two children, ages 10 and 18, and his wife.
It all started when an argument at one of the restaurant tables resulted in a 53-year-old man being shot in the face. He died instantly.
When the police inspector approached the shooter, there was another firefight.
Both the inspector and the suspect were shot. The detective later died while the suspect was receiving medical attention at a local hospital.

Many were outraged by the use of social media to spread misinformation.
“This happened in Brazil and not Bedfordview, Let’s not post fake messages, ”wrote one user.
“The video of the shooting in ‘Bedfordview’ wasn’t actually in Bedfordview, but took place in Brazil. Ey, we have to be careful and check the facts. Such lies can easily cause panic and fear, ”wrote another.
