The SA SocialSecurity Agency (Sassa) says it is working around the clock to reverse the suspension of social benefits to civil servants.
The agency approved these grants after a routine review last month who became known to the public as an ineligible beneficiary of social allowances.
The agency told TimesLIVE on Thursday that the beneficiaries had not updated their income information, but have since determined after thorough scrutiny that it is public servants are interns, Extended Public Works Program ( EPWP) and general workers whose income would not preclude them from receiving the grant.
< p> Sassa CEO Busisiwe Memela-Khambula asked the beneficiaries to inform the agency of any changes in their circumstances, as this would affect their position with Sassa and the payouts will affect.
“ Sassa is about to address the individual circumstances of the. reconsider affected beneficiaries and reinstate their grants where indicated. However, all concerned must continue to review their scholarships and provide updated information on their employment and marital status to ensure legal compliance. These checks must be carried out at the local Sassa offices, ”said Paseka Letsatsi, spokeswoman for Sassa. They alleged that the building authorities falsely told Sassa that they were earning R 7,000, which precludes them from receiving the grant.
