Three security officers were injured in a cash robbery in Benoni, Gauteng on Friday afternoon.
Paramedics arrived at the scene on Putfontein Road and found a “light motor vehicle… well got off in the middle of the road whilst a wrecked cash-in-transit vehicle was parked on the side of the road,” said ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring.
The money-in-transit van was blown up in an explosion.
“Paramedics examined three men who were at the scene walked around and found they had escaped with minor injuries. Fortunately, no serious injuries or deaths were found,” Meiring said.
The officers were treated and taken to the hospital for further medical attention.
