Seven people were killed and 10 injured when a truck and taxi collided on the west coast road of Cape Town on Tuesday.
The injuries ranged from mild to severe and the 10 were rushed to hospital, said ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring.
The R27 in Melkbosstrand was blocked while paramedics and rescue workers took care of the injured.
“Doctors found seven people, some of them still in the taxi included He was fatally injured in the collision. Nothing could be done for them and they were pronounced dead, “said Meiring.
” Ten other patients were examined and found to have sustained severe to minor injuries. Patients were treated and advanced life support measures before being transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
“A severely injured patient was flown to hospital for emergency care by AMS Medical helicopter.”
