Three men were arrested on Saturday for allegedly stealing copper cables from a railway track near the SJ Smith hostel in Mobeni, Durban.
According to the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Police Commissioner’s Office The Department of Commerce Infrastructure Task Team acted after receiving information about cable theft in Durban.
The team was taken to Swinton Road where they found three men in possession of 51m of copper cable, eight bundles of copper cable and Seven meters of aluminum cable was found.
The suspects, aged between 16 and 26, were arrested by Montclair SAPS and charged with theft.
They will appear in Durban Magistrates Court on Monday.< /p>
