Two suspects were arrested in connection with a robbery in a jewelry store in Centurion Mall that killed the owner, Gauteng police said Tuesday afternoon.
Police spokesman Col Dimakatso Sello said, the two suspects were arrested Monday night in Hillbrow.
“The suspects were also found in possession of the vehicle that was supposedly used to escape the scene,” he said.
A group of five men stormed and robbed the store on Monday. The 55-year-old owner of the store was shot and killed before the group fled the scene with an unknown amount of jewelry, Sello said.
Sello said one of the suspects was also wanted over another robbery case.
The suspects, aged 23 and 24, are expected to appear in court for robbery and murder soon.
