Two suspects to appear in court for allegedly torching a house and three high-end vehicles

Two suspects arrested for allegedly setting fire to a house and three motor vehicles during a vigilante attack on the Limpopo village of Blinkwater are expected to appear in Hlanganani Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Police spokeswoman Brig Motlafela Mojapelo said a group of people reportedly came to the victim’s home in motor vehicles on Thursday and accused her husband of being responsible for the murder of their two relatives to be the Hlanganani police area in May and June.

“The suspects allegedly have the windows of the house and a BMW 320i, a Ford Ranger double cab and a Mercedes Benz Sprinter with them 22 seats smashed. They then set fire to the house and three vehicles and fled the scene. Total damage is estimated at more than R1.5million,” he said.

Proceedings for arson and malicious damage to property have been opened and a search for the suspects initiated. The suspects were arrested by members of the Mopani District Response Team and search team members.

“Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the remaining suspects should contact Warrant Officer Solly Contact Enoch Zitiva on 082 468 8673, Crime Stop Number on 0860 010111, the nearest police station or send information via MySAPSApp. The police investigation is ongoing,” said Mojapelo.
