Former DA MP Phumzile van Damme has incriminated Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla by comparing Thuli Madonsela to a gorilla and claiming she only attacked the former public protector with her father’s consent.
The daughter of former President Jacob Zuma came under fire this week after apparently comparing Madonsela’s facial features to those of a gorilla.
She said Madonsela and President Cyril Ramaphosa have a “sell-out nose”.
You This comment sparked outrage from many on the internet, including Van Damme.
“Uyis’phukuphuku Dudu, aw’zenzisi. (You’re stupid, Dudu, you don’t even pretend.) Wenzela uyihlo wonke lododi? Awum’dala back then (You do all this crap for your dad? You’re too old for this.) “Dad, look what I posted on the internet. I said she looks like a monkey. Love me. Accept me,'” said Van Damme.
She claimed Zuma-Sambudla should be in jail with her father for “instigating the violence that caused the July 2021 riots”.
Last year, Twitter took action against Zuma-Sambudla for her contributions to the riots and looting in July.
Twitter -Users who reported Zuma – Sambudla for sharing the clipsreceived a notification from the app confirming that she broke the rules.
< p>The videos and images she shared were taken from multiple areas in KwaZulu-Natal before the riots and looting broke out in Gauteng.
By the rules of Twitter fell the complaints against the clips shared by Zuma-Sambudla under “Terrorism/Violent Extremism”.
A leader of the SA movement, Mmusi Maimane, slapped Zuma-Sambudla also for to their posts.
“This is blatant racism and humiliation of a fellow human being. An affront to Thuli Madonsela’s dignity,” Maimane said.
“Your mercy in response does not legitimize this. No matter who says it, racism is racism. I hope you have the courage to withdraw, apologize and delete it.”
DA Bundesrat chairwoman Helen Zille found the comparison disgusting.
“That’s the most disgusting thing below. If anyone else (let alone a white person) posted something as outrageously racist, they would be banned from Twitter for life. I am patiently waiting to see what will happen to Dudu Zuma-Sambudla,” said Zille.
“She is South African and so am I. We are told that black people are not allowed to be racist. This tweet is proof that all people can be deeply racist, except that the racism of some is excused because of their own race. And that’s the most racist thing ever.”
An unimpressed Zuma-Sambudla clapped back at the criticism and said she wasn’t apologizing for her tweet.
“You can all kiss my ass Including Helen Zille and Mmusi Maimane,” she said.
On Monday, Madonsela shared “a thought” about how what one person says or does to others reflects them.
“What you say or do to others reflects who and what you are, not them, so choose your words and actions carefully,” she said.
