“Floods are a frequent one Event after heavy rainfall. Residents in lower-lying areas and near river banks need to be particularly careful. We also encourage drivers to be extra careful and avoid crossing overcrowded bridges as this could result in their vehicles being washed away, ”said Hlomuka.

The storm is expected to affect the following areas : Abaqulusi; Big Five Hlabisa Impendle; Gwe; Jozini; KwaDukuza; Mandeni; Maphumulo; Mkhambathini; Msinga; Mthonjaneni; Mtubatuba; Ndwedwe; Nkandla; Nongoma; Nquthu; Richmond; Msunduzi; Ubuhlebezwe; Ulundi; Umhlabuialingana; uMhlathuze; uMlalazi; uMngeni; uMshwathi; uMziwabanti; Umvoti; Umzimkhulu; uPhongolo.
