The EFF did not vote for the DA for coalition governments, but rather against the ANC, said chairman Julius Malema on Saturday.
At his party’s Siyabonga rally in Durban, Malema said that the EFF had achieves its mandate to overthrow the ruling party in last year’s local elections, in which the ANC’s votes at national level fell below 50% and the ruling party lost key subways to the DA in Gauteng.
Malema said the EFF could either vote for the ANC and push it back to power or vote against to teach the ruling party a lesson.
Here are six fiery quotes from his address:
< p> We are not enemies with ANC and IFP
“The ANC is not our enemy. It is our political competitor. The IFP is not our enemy. It is our political competitor. The prosecution is our enemy because these thieves stole our land and our economy. They will never be our friends until they bring our country back. “
EFF coalitions with DA
” We didn’t vote for the DA, we did just didn’t vote for the ANC. We said as long as the ANC didn’t come back. Why? We want to teach them a lesson. You are black like us. Why do they treat us as if they don’t know our problems? “
Ramaphosa uses Covid-19 to stay in power
” [President Cyril] Ramaphosa is using Covid-19 to stay in power because he knows he can’t go to the [Moses] Mabhida Stadium. If he goes to the stadium, the people of KwaZulu-Natal will teach him a lesson. He wants VIPs who are regulated when entering the stadium. We move freely. “
Reopen the stadiums
” We need our supporters in the stadiums so that we can revive society. We want our people to be entertained again. We are unemployed. We don’t have the money to go to school. Entertainment can create many jobs. Many people have lost their jobs due to inappropriate lockdowns. “
eThekwini ANC hates black people
” [ eThekwini Mayor Mxolisi] Kaunda hates black people. Therefore, when our people were killed in Phoenix, he only went to Indian communities and never to African communities. “
The land bill
” We have filed an application for expropriation of land without compensation. The ANC hijacked our application, changed it and spoke of zero compensation. We don’t want to compensate. They made fools of us. You said no compensation for polluting land. What do we do with risky land? “
