While SA recalls the civil unrest, looting and crime that ravaged parts of KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng a year ago , TimesLIVE readers have weighed in on whether those responsible will ever be held accountable.

The violence erupted after days of protests in KwaZulu-Natal over the imprisonment of former President Jacob Zuma.

President Cyril Ramaphosa said those responsible for the riots would “turn to the full force of the law” and Police Minister Bheki Cele named 19 suspected instigators of the riots who were arrested in KwaZulu-Natal, Gauteng and Free State last week.
